Leanne came to me with an open brief for her new independent bottle shop, Pin Oak Beer & Wine. The only request was that the logo should incorporate a tree, inspired by the Pin Oak trees that line the street where her shop is based. Beyond that, she trusted me to bring her vision to life.
I designed a logo that reflected both her brand identity and the unique ethos of her business - stocking carefully curated wines and craft beers from small, independent producers. The oak leaves were formed from the shapes of beer and wine bottles, while the colour palette of greens, browns, and black echoed both the natural tones of the Pin Oak tree and the bottles themselves.
To support her launch, I also designed Leanne’s business cards, an Opening Soon poster, and a large die-cut window decal that became the shop’s main signage. This eye-catching design has since featured in videos shared by customers and fellow traders, helping to establish Pin Oak Beer & Wine as a distinctive presence in the community.
The project was carried out remotely with Leanne based in Australia, yet our collaboration was seamless and productive. Despite the time difference, communication was clear and efficient, and I was able to translate her vision and values into a logo and brand identity that she felt confident and proud to launch with.
